Join OU Libraries for an ORCID iD Party! In-Person

Get your iD. Learn how to leverage your unique personal identifier for maximum exposure with minimum maintenance. A short presentation starts at 12:15, followed by a party and hands-on opportunities.

ORCID is an open, global standard that provides researchers with a unique ID. This permanent identifier serves as a digital profile linking their entire professional history, alternate names, journal publications, federal grants, patents, and employment history. Federal agencies and major academic publishers are now requiring ORCID iDs. OU will soon be able to integrate ORCID with campus systems to automatically populate annual reviews, tenure dossiers, and federal biosketches without manual data reentry.

Come get assistance with setting up or editing your ORCID iD, or discuss the week’s theme and learn about the library services and resources available to support open access publishing.

This is our 13th year celebrating International Open Access Week, Oct. 19-25, 2026. Visit the OA Week webpage for information about additional online OA Week events. Questions: Julia Rodriguez ~juliar@oakland.edu
